I’m visual designer because I love communicating with words and images. I’m curious about how people interact with with each other and how to make that interaction fun, informative, and interesting. I also love nature, animals, history, Amsterdam, water, and funny signs.

Early in my career I worked at the Los Angeles Times where I designed and managed advertising and marketing projects and learned web design at latimes.com. I left the Times in 1999, right when the Internet was taking over. I started ellenperry design and enjoyed 10 years riding the web wave, designing everything from magazine covers, websites, an app, and a Roku channel until 2011 when I took a vacation from design to sell solar power. I am concerned about the future of our environment. I wanted to help people benefit from renewable energy.

After making solar available to 100’s of families I am reinvigorating my design practice. My most recent project was a print-on-demand/Kindle book with a website and landing page to promote it. I am most interested in projects that are solution oriented, helping people evolve their consciousness and/or promote sustainable products and services.

COMMUNITY
Founding Member — Claremont Wildlands Conservancy
Cofounded a nonprofit organization that raised over $11.5 million dollars to purchase several acres of land in the hillsides above Claremont, California in order to create a wilderness preserve.
